Insect Management

Insect management starts with good pre harvest hygiene, clean headers, chaser
bins, trucks, silos and grain dyers.
Aeration –
One of the key benefits of a good aeration system is the cooling effect, young insects will stop developing below 20 0C and most insects will stop reproducing below 150C. Agridry’s AC20 is perfect for selecting and operating the fans during the coolest and driest air.
Fumigation –
If you have an insect infestation fumigation is now common practice. When fumigating a sealed silo is paramount to ensure all insects are killed and avoid breeding phosphine tolerance.
Prior to fumigation the silo should be pressure tested to ensure it will hold the fumigant for the required timeframe. See the GRDC factsheet below on how to do this.

All agridry aeration kits are available as a sealed kit, we also offer sealable ground operating roof vents
